Surfcoast Anglican Parish held its annual Parish Summer Fête on Saturday 12 January at St Luke's in Torquay. The weather this year was perfect for a fête, not too hot and not too cold.
After the success of last year's changes, just concentrating on the usual stalls inside, the Op Shop and the BBQ, Plants and Face Painting outside, we tweaked things again by starting at 10am and closing at 2pm. This seemed to make things less rushed and made for a more pleasant experience for all.
As usual there were loads of home made produce, second hand books, the Op Shop, great BBQ'ed sausages, a ploughman's lunch, cakes, craftwork, an excellent morning tea, face painting and lots of plants.
Members of the Parish, the Beach Mission crew and the Op Shop volunteers once again all worked together to make another memorable fête. This year the fête raised $6000 for the Parish. Thank you to everyone for your hard work before and on Fête Day. Thanks also to all the members of the public who came to support us and opened their purses and wallets.
