Parish Summer Fête 2020
Surfcoast Anglican Parish held its annual Parish Summer Fête on Saturday 11 January at St Luke's in Torquay. It was a relief that our Fête day this year, after the extreme weather we have been experiencing this Summer, was cool and fine.
We again used the format of the Craft and Produce Stalls inside the Hall, the Op Shop and outside was the BBQ, the Plants Stall and the Face Painting. We tweaked things again by starting at 9:00am and closing at 1:00pm. With the cooler weather, not really suitable for beach going, there seemed to be more people around than for the previous year.
As usual there were loads of home made produce, second hand books, the Op Shop, great BBQ'ed sausages, a ploughman's lunch, cakes, craftwork, an excellent morning tea, face painting and lots of plants.
Members of the Parish, the Beach Mission crew and the Op Shop volunteers once again all worked together, and had fun, making for another memorable fête. This year the fête raised $5380 for the Parish. Thank you to everyone for your hard work before and on Fête Day. Thanks also to all the members of the public who came to support us and opened their purses and wallets.
